Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

1. Introduction

SkinView helps users review visible skin signals, track progress, and build skincare routines. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our app, website, and related services.

2. Information We Collect

  • Photos and scan data: face photos you capture or upload, face-position and landmark information used to locate visible skin areas, generated skin signal summaries, scan timestamps, and progress history.
  • Onboarding answers: skin goals, routine preferences, product usage, sensitivity context, and other answers used to personalize the experience.
  • Account data: identifiers, email address, display name, authentication provider details, and account settings.
  • Subscription data: subscription status and purchase history related to in-app purchases, usually processed by Apple and subscription management providers.
  • Usage and diagnostics: app interactions, crash data, performance data, and device information used to improve reliability.

3. How We Use Information

  • To provide skin scan insights and progress tracking
  • To personalize skincare routines and product guidance
  • To maintain accounts, subscriptions, and support workflows
  • To improve app quality, safety, and performance
  • To respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests

4. Face and Skin Scan Data

When you choose to take or upload a face photo, SkinView collects the image you provide and derived face and skin scan information. This may include face bounds, face landmarks, skin-area masks, cosmetic skin signal measurements, scan overlays, and visible-skin observations such as redness, pigmentation, oiliness, blemish-prone areas, texture, pores, and under-eye appearance.

We use face and skin scan data only to provide the app's skincare features: validating that a usable face photo was provided, showing scan previews and overlays, generating cosmetic skin insights, personalizing skincare routines and product guidance, saving scan history for progress tracking, and maintaining the security and reliability of the service.

SkinView does not use face data for identity verification, Face ID, biometric identification, authentication, advertising, or building a faceprint. We do not sell face photos, face landmarks, or skin scan results.

Face photos and related scan results may be stored in our private Supabase storage and database under your app account. For features that generate AI-assisted cosmetic insights, the face photo and local skin signal summaries may be processed by our service providers, including Supabase for hosting, storage, authentication, and database services, and Google Gemini for AI-assisted skin insight generation. Subscription and analytics providers such as Apple, RevenueCat, Superwall, and AppsFlyer do not receive your face photos from us.

We retain face photos, scan results, and derived skin signal data while your account is active or as needed to provide scan history, routines, product guidance, support, security, and legal compliance. You can request deletion of your personal information or delete your account where available. Deleting a scan or account removes the associated scan image and related scan records from active storage, subject to limited backup, security, legal, or operational retention requirements.

5. AI Processing

Some features may use AI systems to review photos, generate skincare insights, summarize visible skin signals, and suggest routines or products. AI outputs can be inaccurate and are for informational skincare guidance only. They are not medical advice or diagnosis.

6. Sharing

We do not sell your identifiable face photos. We may share information with service providers who help operate the app, including hosting, storage, analytics, authentication, subscriptions, support, and AI processing. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure service providers. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Your Choices

You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal information. You may also delete your account from the app when available, or contact us at skinviewapp@gmail.com.

9. Children

SkinView is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
